All right. So we do a lot of things to
promote ourselves our brand
our products and our companies as
but one thing that we do that's really
targeted is what's called sales
So what is that compared to the other
things that we do to promote?
Well the definition you see here is that,
sales promotion is
any activity or the all the activities
designed to encourage
interest in trial of or purchase
of a product by potential customers or
intermediaries. So there's kind of a lot
packed into that definition the
the main thing the main takeaway here
are two things,
one it's really trying to get people to
that's the first thing, the second key
point here is that it could be targeting
customers or intermediaries which are
and retailers people that sell our
product. So how do we do those things?
we can use coupons or discounts or
sales. Those are all tools that are
designed to get people to take action
now. Also we can give rebates or
allowances are kind of like rebates for
wholesalers and retailers.
So these are also designed to get people
to purchase now so they can get that
that lower price or that money back.
Another thing we do
in in the way of sales promotion is we
give out samples
the goal there of course is that people
will try it and then decide oh I should
so that's another key form of sales
Lastly a major tool for sales promotion
are what we call point-of-purchase
so this is when you're in the store and
you see a bunch of a
particular product on display somewhere
or maybe you see
like some signs or or other things to
promote a particular product.
That's point of purchase display and
it's meant to grab the
customers attention and make them uh
get them to make an impulse decision to
buy right then.
So all of these together make up our
tools for sales promotion.
