All right. As marketers we design
products with the goal of meeting
customer needs. So a key
attribute or characteristic of our
products whether they are goods or
services or a combination
is the quality of that product. What does
product quality really mean?
Well as you see in this definition here
product quality is the extent to which a
service or combination thereof
solves a problem or meets a need.
So for our product to have any real
it has to have some kind of quality or
hopefully a high level of quality.
In other words it needs to actually
solve a problem for the consumer
or meet a need. So by doing that
our product can be a source of value, it
can solve a problem or meet a need
in other words providing some value to
The other thing that we need to keep in
mind about product quality
is since this is one of the main ways
that consumers judge our products
this is critical to success we actually
have to make sure we deliver some level
in other words we really have to make
sure our product solves a problem or
meets a need
just being different or being new
doesn't make a product
it doesn't give a product quality so we
really have to focus on solving a
problem or meeting a need
for our product to deliver value and to
some high level of quality.
