What is Collective Efficacy in groups?

Collective efficacy refers to a group’s perception that it will interact efficiently and perform well together.

Performing well together means a belief in the ability to achieve mutually-agree-upon objectives.

Collective efficacy is influenced by the perception of each individual in the group. It can also be influenced by leadership, role models, verbal persuasion, motivation, and task-interdependence.

Collective efficacy can be a characteristic of a team. It can also have an effect on group performance, In fact, research shows that collective efficacy improves group performance. It can also be a key attribute in how groups develop.
