How Can we Manage Publicity?
Common methods of controlling publicity include:
- Press Releases - A press release is used to notify the media when we have a new product coming out or some major event or happening that we want to distribute to the world.
- Sponsorships - Another way is sponsorships and being involved with charitable activities.
- Brand Advocates - Brand advocates are people who go out and talk about us. If we can identify people that like us and encourage them to tell other people about us, there's a good chance that publicity will be positive.
- Social Media - Social media is a place where we can start conversations about our product or company.
- Influencer Marketing - This includes identifying people that have a big audience and trying to get them to talk about us.
- Brand Communities - Brand communities are people who come together around our brand
While we can't control all the messaging, and we can't control what other people say about us, these are ways that we can try to manage publicity.
