What is Macro-Marketing?
Macro marketing is the perspective of marketing as a societal system of resource allocation,. In other words, it's a way of thinking about marketing as a driver of the economy.
So, if you're thinking in terms of macro-marketing or taking that perspective, it means that everything that happens with the national and global economies are a result of marketing. It's a way of saying that marketing decides who gets what and you know what money goes where because of the things that we do as marketers (like setting prices, creating products, etc,).
Macro-Marketing is all about need satisfaction. Marketers decide what to provide and, by doing so, decide what needs to satisfy. They decide what options people have for satisfying those needs, so the function of marketing as a societal system is need satisfaction.
What are the risks of this kind of marketing or this perspective on marketing?
Well what happens when the system is not performing efficiently or effectively is that you see uneven distribution of wealth. In other words, some people have a lot of resources; other people don't have enough. and then you can also
When people don't have enough resources and they see other people with lots of resources, it's hard for those two people to get along. So we also see health issues. When people don't have enough resources, it's hard for them to be healthy.
What is Micro-Marketing?
Micro-marketing, commonly known as firm-level marketing, concerns all the functions that happen within a business related to marketing whether that's developing products, selling products, distributing products, etc.
