The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is an association that trains and educates individuals in the supply management profession. This institute is the oldest and largest supply management association in the world with over 50,000 members across 100 countries. ISM was established in 1915, it is a non-profit association that offers professional certification, training and career development for those who specialize in purchase and supply management. The original name of ISM was the National Association of Purchasing Agents, before it was changed to The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) in 2002.

Why Does the Institute For Supply Management (ISM) Matter?

The Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is one of the two certifications offered by ISM, the second one being Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD). ISM as the oldest and largest supply management association has a monthly publication name 'Inside Supply Management'.
