What is a Structure Problem and an Unstructured Problem?
Organizational decisions can be further categorized based upon the nature of the problem faced.
- Structured Problems – Structured problems are routine in nature. They commonly occur in a similar or recognizable way within the organization. In this way, structured problems are easily understood by the organization.
- Unstructured Problems – Unstructured problems are novel and infrequent in nature. These types of problems may be difficult to recognize upon initial occurrence. Further, they may require specific analysis and research to fully understand.
