Pregnancy Discrimination Act

o An employer can no longer discriminate against women workers who become pregnant or give birth.

o Employers with health or disability plans must cover pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions in the same manner as other conditions are covered.

  • A Plan that covers female employees must cover mail employees wives.

o Cannot force pregnant women to stop working until after birth.

Cannot mandate a specific leave of absence for birth.
