A Little More on What is Esquire

The term esquire originates from social and government use in England. Historically, esquire was a title denoting a male of high social status.

In old England, it was used to identify a title below that of knight and above gentleman.

Originally, it was only bestowed upon those holding public office or a position of trust.

Today, in Great Britain, it is routinely used in formal correspondence to identify an upper-class gentleman.
